NEW DELHI: Terming dialogue inescapable between Pakistan and India, Pakistan’s High Commissioner to India Abdul Basit has said that lasting peace and stability is impossible until outstanding issues are not settled between two neighbouring countries. Speaking to media at a Diwali function, he said both the neighbouring countries have had severe differences for the last many years including ceasefire violations. He said there were no other way but dialogue to resolve issues between the two countries. “No one has gained anything from wars between the two countries, he added.
He reiterated that Pakistan was ready to talk with India on all longstanding issues including Kashmir. “It is now responsibility of India to find out ways to resolve the issues through dialogue, the high commissioner said. Basit continued that the India government should review its internal situation before levelling allegations against Pakistan.
