ISLAMABAD – The Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony has cancelled Balloting under government Hajj scheme on Friday here.
According to Minister for Religious Affairs Sardar Yousaf, the step has been taken in view of a writ petition filed in the Supreme Court challenging the Hajj policy of 2016. The statement said that the new date of balloting will be announced in the light of the Supreme Court’s decision.
According to ministry 280,617 applications have been received and 83,440 pilgrims will be selected through a transparent balloting.
