ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court on Wednesday accepted appeals and stayed the verdict of Islamabad High Court (IHC) regarding promotion of 57 employees from grade 21 to grade 22.
The court also issued notices to respondents in the case. The three-member bench of the apex court headed by Chief Justice Anwar Zaheer Jamali, Justice Sheikh Azmat Saeed and Justice Umar Ata Bandial heard the case filed by the government employees against IHC verdict.
The employees’ counsel – Afnan Karim Kundi – informed the court that the single bench of IHC dismissed his clients’ appeals and that they had filed an intra-court appeal which was accepted partially.
He pleaded the apex court to suspend IHC’s verdict – which the SC after hearing the initial arguments accepted the appeals and issued notices to respondents.
