GUJRANWALA: Punjab Local Government Minister Mansha Ullah Butt said that implementing the vision of CM Punjab, motorbike ambulance service had been launched in Gujranwala, under which 100 officers of Rescue 1122 had been provided with motorbike ambulances.
While addressing the inauguration ceremony of motorbike ambulance service in Gujranwala, he said that the purpose of the service was provision of first aid to the residents of densely populated areas, to which ambulances struggle to reach in time. Gujranwala Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Tariq Qureshi, District Council Chairman Mazhar Qayyum Nahra, Rescue 1122 DG Dr Rizwan Naseer, MNA Mahmood Bashir Virk, MNA Shazia Sohail Mir, MPA Taufiq Ahmed Butt, Rescue 1122 staff and other officials attended the event.
The minister said that motorbike ambulance service was a revolutionary step which will be able to provide immediate relief to the public. He said that the chief minister had inaugurated the service in Lahore and Multan as well.
On the occasion, Rescue 1122 DG Dr Rizwan Nasir told the provincial minister that facilities including oxygen pulse, blood pressure monitor, airway kit, trauma kit, and burn kit will be provided by the motorbike ambulance service and a trained medical technician will also be available.
Two arrested: Anti-Corruption Establishment arrested a police ASI and a revenue official for corruption and misuse of power. It was said that Sambrial police station ASI Malik Akhtar had taken a bribe of Rs 25,000 from a citizen; while Muhammad Yamin was involved in a fraud case. Cases against both the accused were registered with Anti-Corruption Establishment.
2 dead in road accidents: Two people died and four were injured in road accidents on Sunday. It was reported that Latif, resident of Dhulley, along with his 6-year-oldgrandson, Subhan, was riding a motorcycle near Gulshan Colony when a speeding truck hit their motorcycle. Resultantly, Subhan died on the spot while Latif received injuries and was rushed to DHQ hospital by Rescue 1122 team.
In another incident, a truck collided with a rickshaw killing one person and injuring three near Phaloki Ali Pur Road. The injured persons were rushed to THQ Hospital Wazirabad.
